RXLWin Requirements (Windows Version)
SQL or SQL Express 2005 - the database we need for our backend is based on Microsoft SQL. The user can opt for our FREE SQL Express version of the database backend or
may purchase a license for Microsoft SQL Server from Microsoft.
Single

- Backup
hardware (Tape, CD-R, DVD-R) and backup media
(backup is the user responsibility - we can and will show the user
how to create a xxxxxx.BAK SQL backup file that can be copied to any
drive on the network - each facility is responsible for provind
adequate backup for those BAK files - this means that if the
computer crashes and we need to restore we will need to obtain a
copy of the last BAK file from the facility)
- We need
a fast connection to your PC - Note that a VPN/Internet connection that is broadband is required.
- Keyboard and mouse and touch screen if desired (Touch Screen option - the USB model of the KTMT-1921
will handle up to a 21 inch screen easily and for about $300.00 will
make most of Rx-Link touchable on the screen (some typing will still
need to occur))
- 19”

- if the Crown HL7 Interface is to be installed, an account for the
service to login as. This account must have rights to run as a service and must
be in the “RxLinkUsers” group. It is recommended that this account be called
“RxHL7IF”. (Although some site have a designation of "s_" or "svc_" in front of
the name to denote that it is a service account. Examples are: svc_RXHL7IF
or s_RXHL7IF. Any name is acceptable to us as long as we know what it is.) If this is not the name used for the service the actual name must be
communicated to Crown Software along with the password for the account.
- Identify if there are any policies in place that dictate a
non-standard install, i.e. installation of any components into non-default
locations, MS SQL Server 2005 already installed, use of a named instance of
MSSQLSERVICE, SQL Express 2005 to be configured on other than default ports, etc.
